Obama: Give me the damn checkbook!

S.O.S. – Stop Obama’s Spending!

The so-called “stimulus” bill. If it passes, we will be taking on a crushing debt burden that can only mean dramatically higher taxes and a lower standard of living. Senator Tom Coburn, one of the best friends of the American taxpayer in Congress, said, “[This bill] is about spending money that we don’t have for things we don’t need.”

He’s right.

The bill represents the biggest single expenditure in American history -- ever. Its price tag with interest is well over $1 trillion. And all that spending President Obama and the congressional liberals are demanding in this one bill is in addition to, not part of, this year’s federal budget or this year’s federal deficit.

Here’s some perspective: Everyone concedes that George W. Bush spent too much money. But it took the Bush Administration more than two years and a global war on radical Islamic terrorism in the wake of the 9/11 attacks to increase the national debt by more than one trillion dollars.

President Obama is on track to do it in his first month in office!
