Bill Clinton’s Third Term
Throughout the campaign, Barack Obama rarely missed an opportunity to tie Senator McCain to President Bush. He repeatedly suggested that a McCain presidency would essentially be George Bush’s “third term,” offering “more of the same.” The charge was effective and worked well for Senator Obama. The “change” mantra is a powerful political message. In fact, there is a well-established trend in modern political history of the American people flipping to the “out” party after one party has controlled the White House for eight years.
For example, after eight years of Republican Dwight Eisenhower, Democrat John Kennedy won. After eight years of Democrats Kennedy and Johnson, Republican Nixon won. After eight years of Nixon and Ford, Democrat Jimmy Carter won. Carter’s presidency was such a disaster that the American people didn’t wait eight year to change parties, and they elected Ronald Reagan in 1980. Reagan’s presidency was so successful that the American people gave him a “third term” in the election of his vice president, George H. W. Bush. After eight years of Democrat Bill Clinton, the American people chose Republican George W. Bush. And eight years later, they swung back to the Democrats with the election of Barack Obama.
Now, I do not mean to suggest that the outcome of each election is fatalistically pre-ordained. Of course issues, candidates and events do matter. But the trend is significant enough that Obama seized on the “change” mantra and made it a central theme of his campaign. In voting for Senator Obama, the American people clearly rejected the idea of a “third Bush term.” But there is an old saying in Washington: “Personnel is policy.” And it seems from President-elect Obama’s appointments that we are getting Bill Clinton’s third term.
As I mentioned in a previous report, an overwhelming percentage of Obama appointments have ties to the Clinton Administration, and he has continued to tap the “Clinton well” in the past few days. His choice for Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, served as under secretary for international affairs during the Clinton Administration. Larry Summers, a former Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, may be brought into the White House as President-elect Obama’s senior economic advisor. Vice President-elect Joe Biden chose as his chief of staff, Ron Klain, who was Vice President Al Gore’s chief of staff for four years during the Clinton Administration. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, who was the Energy Secretary and UN ambassador under Bill Clinton, reportedly will be Secretary of Commerce.
And we’re still waiting for the formal announcement that Hillary will get the plum post of Secretary of State. In one way, Obama has succeeded in bringing people together. Many conservatives and progressives are furious that so many “Clintonistas,” including Hillary herself, have been appointed to key positions. Leftists who voted for Obama hoping for “change” are feeling cheated because it appears as though we are going “back to the future” and getting Bill Clinton’s “third term.” Conservatives who lived through those scandal ridden years and those, like me, who had their FBI files pulled by hyper-partisan bureaucrats aren’t looking forward to reliving them.

OBAMA'S 3 BIG LIES!
"Joe the plumber" has a secret plan to destroy Barack Obama.
If you believe the media, Joe is a sinister, McCain-supporting Republican of the Reagan type — he is a true threat to the "Anointed One" — Barack Obama — and his chances of becoming president of the United States.
This sounds almost like a make-believe story, but it's true. The media has been seeking to decapitate Joe the plumber.
Why? Because he's an ordinary American who has a dream of business success for himself and his family.
One day, Joe woke up and suddenly realized that Barack Obama is going to punish him with brutal taxes.
Just by coincidence — and I know Chris Matthews and Katie Couric will never believe it was simply a coincidence — Joe met Barack Obama as Obama passed through his Ohio neighborhood.
When Joe challenged Obama with a tough question — something the press has not done during the past two years — the Anointed One wilted.
How dare Joe want to make and keep his own money? The nerve of this man to want to be a success in a small business!
As Obama put it, shouldn't Joe want to help him "spread the wealth around?"
With that one remark, Obama's disguise as a moderate crumbled.

Joe the plumber discovered that Obama thinks Joe's rich too. Under Obama, he won't be able to hire new employees and grow his business.
Joe's not alone. Obama says he'll strip away the FICA cap at $90,000 for every worker. That means every dollar you earn over that amount, you'll pay 7 percent!
Obama Lie No. 2 — I want to give a tax cut to the middle class.
Baloney!
Obama says he will let the Bush tax cuts expire. That's an automatic 5 percent (maximum) tax increase on almost all taxpayers.
Plus middle class folks pay capital gains taxes. Obama has said he wants to almost double them from a low of 15 percent to almost 30 percent.
He wants to hike the dividend tax, and he also has promised taxes on gas and energy.
Obama also wants to dramatically increase the estate tax, which had almost disappeared. There goes your idea of sharing your wealth with your kids in the future.
Obama Lie No. 3 — I want to make America more secure.
Another outright lie. In an age when crazies like Iran's Ahmadinejad are building ballistic missiles and promise to "destroy" the United States and Israel, Obama has promised to gut the missile defense program created by President Reagan.
"I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems," Obama said.
He has promised to cut "tens of billions" of dollars from the Defense Department. In an effort to make us more "secure," Obama plans to disarm us.
In the age of 9/11 can we afford such a radical Leftist in the White House?
No, we can't.

Obama is not just a danger to our economy, with his plans to raise taxes and spend $800 billion in new programs.

He originally backed Washington D.C.'s total ban on private handguns — a ban that was overturned. The NRA rated him an "F" on gun positions and says he is one of the most dangerous anti-gun politicians in the nation.
Never forget that Obama is a Harvard-educated elitist. To him, we Americans are simply "bitter" and he has mocked us saying "[they] cling to their guns and their religion."
Hillary Clinton was late in recognizing the threat Obama posed to her campaign, but once she did, her strategy worked.
When Hillary exposed Obama publicly, her campaign saw a major turnaround.
Hillary won every major state primary in the nation with the sole exception of Obama's home state of Illinois.
And even though Obama was "anointed" by the media and Democratic elites, Hillary went on to win eight of the last 10 Democratic primaries.
Finally, McCain is fighting back — just like Hillary did. His poll numbers have improved.
But Obama is spending huge amounts of cash in the swing states.
That's why we need your help. To go into these states and tell the American public the truth about Obama.
Make no mistake about it: If we let Americans know the truth about Obama, John McCain can win this election!
But we must employ Hillary Clinton's strategy.
We must expose Obama for the dangerous radical he is.

Lynn Forester was one of Clinton's "Hillraisers," people who collected at least $100,000 for Clinton's presidential campaign, but now she is throwing her support behind John McCain, not Barack Obama. Forester -- CEO of a holding company with businesses around the world -- thinks Obama is arrogant and has a problem connecting with average Americans. This is what she had to say about the Democratic nominee recently on CNN. "Frankly, I don't like him," she stated. "I feel like he's an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him."
Danta Scala, a political science professor at the University of New Hampshire, says the Forester endorsement highlights a larger problem for Obama -- connecting with middle-class white voters. "We've seen that again and again during the primaries for the Democratic presidential nomination. We see it now in the national polls," he points out, "so there is some worry. Now, my guess is that most Hillary Clinton supporters like the one you mentioned -- wealthy Democrats -- [are] going to support Barack Obama, but the real worry for Obama is with working-class white voters in places like Pennsylvania and southern Ohio [and] Michigan."
Scala argues white middle-class voters are a key voting bloc that could go either way in this election, and one that Obama has to work hard to convince that his promises of change will amount to real material changes in their lives.
The democrats are shaking and they should be...as they...ONCE again picked their candidate like they are picking a nose. (They will get the same results either way. My opinion.) Barack Obama is the Political Machine of Chicago's Candidate. He really knows NOTHING of Change. He HASN'T YET...YET...shown that he is or will embrace change. Can you say Manchurian Candidate?

Politics according to ol' Slick Willie
Billy says that Obama will win the White House and he will do it quite handily. (I am not sure I would want Slick Willie even near my campaign...but then again I'm not a desperate Jackass trying to win that office. Anyone can tell...Obama wants that job B...A...D! But...not near as bad as Michelle wants it.)

Earmarks! Where are your earmark...Joey boy?
When Hillary was still running against Obama...Obama demanded that Hillary release her listings of earmarks. So we can let the good people know what she was asking the government for exactly. What I don't understand...is why isn't he holding Joe-Joe to the same requirement?
He has already bad-mouthed Sarah for what he calls bad earmarks. What about Joey?
Damn...could you imagine what Joey's list would look like? Joe Biden has managed to help get his Son elected to the AG of the state of Delaware. Another Son and a Brother are being investigated by the government. But Obama doesn't want anyone looking into their backgrounds. huh?

Obama disclosed all of his earmark requests and expected his rival to do the same. But what about Biden? He’s served in the Senate for 36 years. Yet taxpayers have information about his earmark requests for only one of those years -- fiscal 2009.
What about the other 35 years? In that time Biden’s son Hunter has been a high-powered lobbyist with a connection to Obama, according to the Washington Post. The newspaper reported that Obama “sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate.” Because Biden has refused to release his own earmark requests, there’s no way of knowing how his son’s clients may have fared with Biden’s office.
The Obama campaign’s website promises to “Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending.” Obama's plan “will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate.”
When in his career has Joe Biden ever supported this level of transparency? Even during the March vote on the one-year earmark moratorium, which Obama and Clinton supported, Biden opposed. The measure failed, 71-29, thanks to old bulls like Biden. Time after time and vote after vote, Biden has sided with Washington’s special interests rather than reformers.
Obama’s decision to swear off earmarks this year also stands in direct contrast to his running mate. According to the non-partisan Taxpayers for Common Sense, Biden’s earmarks for 2009 add up to well over $100 million. So while Obama is saying the system is broken, his running mate is feeding at the trough.
Rather than criticizing the other campaign's VP, Obama should get his own house in order.
