Hypocrisy Alert!

During the presidential campaign, candidate Obama spent millions of dollars running ads that accused John McCain of wanting to tax health benefits. That message, combined with Obama’s promise to “cut taxes on 95% of American workers,” left many with the impression that McCain would raise taxes, while Obama would cut them. Well, you can imagine my shock and surprise when I opened today’s Washington Post and saw this headline: “Workers’ Health Benefits Eyed for Taxation.”

Guess who is leading the charge -- Democrat Senator Max Baucus of Montana, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and the White House says that it is open to the idea if that is what it takes to get Obama’s budget passed. Even More Liberal Hypocrisy As we reported last week, liberal political operative James Carville hatched the leftwing plot to smear Rush Limbaugh over his statement “I hope he fails,” referring to President Obama’s policies.

Kudos to Fox News for its investigative journalism. Bill Sammon of Fox News reports that on the morning of 9/11 James Carville was pontificating on the 2000 election and the administration of President George W. Bush and said, “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.” In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Carville’s comments were ignored and eventually forgotten. But now Carville is smearing Rush Limbaugh for essentially saying the exact same thing he said about George W. Bush.

“I’m Not Pro-Abortion”
During last year’s campaign, candidate Obama repeatedly insisted that he was not “pro-abortion.” The statement was made to assuage the concerns of many voters who were understandably suspicious. As president, his short record demonstrates a starkly different reality. Over the weekend, news broke that President Obama would appoint Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services, a key position that deals with many issues important to health care and the pro-life, pro-family agenda. Sebelius is radically pro-abortion. In fact, as governor, she has protected late-term abortionist George Tiller by repeatedly vetoing legislation aimed at strengthening enforcement of pro-life laws in Kansas.

News also broke late last week that the Obama Administration had taken the first steps toward repealing conscious clause protections for medical personnel and hospitals. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), an obstetrician by profession, said he would go to jail before he was forced by the government to perform an abortion. And this comes on the heels of Obama ordering the use of taxpayer money to subsidize abortions worldwide. Once again, Barack Obama is proving that he lied when he said he wasn’t “pro-abortion,” but pro-choice and wanted to reduce the number of abortions. How will he reduce abortions by subsidizing them, which he ordered in his first week in office?

If Obama was troubled by abortion, he wouldn’t be subsidizing it with your money. If he repeals conscious protections for doctors, nurses and hospitals, then the logical outcome of that policy will be to make criminals out of pro-life medical professional like Dr. Tom Coburn if they refuse to perform or promote something that they believe is taking human life. That is using the power of big government to take away choices from those who care deeply about preserving life and forcing them to take life. That is pro-abortion. Twice in our nation’s history the Supreme Court has declared that some human beings had no rights we were obligated to respect. I have no doubt that our nation’s first black president recognizes the injustice of Dred Scott, the Supreme Court decision that said slaves were property and possessed no rights we were obligated to respect.

It is my prayer that our nation’s first black president will come to see that the same injustice is inherent in Roe v. Wade, which declared that unborn children were property of their mothers with no rights we were obligated to respect. It is also an opportunity for action. If you had a friend or relative who was excited by the opportunity to vote for the first mixed-race president, this is an opportunity to engage them on an important issue of public policy. This can be a “teaching moment” – let’s use it!

That's if you have the courage. I say that...because I KNOW some...that call themselves Christians...but they DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT! They can't stand up FOR GOD! But in their IGNORANCE...they stand up AGAINST GOD! I have challenged some to look at ALL OF THE ISSUES. Yet...they won't. They have been mesmerized by fancy slick talking professors and so-called friends.
